Medical Malpractice claim over patient's death rejected

Jacqueline Dinallo, 50, died in March 2018 from a pulmonary embolism, or blood clot, which was likely the result of deep vein thrombosis. The defense maintained that there was nothing doctors could have done to save the patient…law.com, blog.cvn.com, Aug-Sep 2022

Before her death, Dinallo was being treated by physician assistant Charles Kayat for complaints of a severe cough and shortness of breath, among other issues. Dinallo’s husband John claims Kayat failed to properly send Dinallo for testing and treatment that could have saved her.

The defense argued that Kayat provided appropriate care given the circumstances, and that the blood clot was not foreseeable.
